Practices and games are both held at the same location, and location details can be found on your flyer, or by clicking the “Program Details” button on the registration page. Practice and game locations will also be emailed to you 3-5 days before opening day.
Practices and games are both held on Saturdays between 9a-12p. Your child’s team schedule will be emailed to you 3-5 days before opening day.
In the SSA Sports Leagues, all coaches are background approved parent volunteers! If you’re interested in becoming a coach and leading your team, please email us at signup@ssaprogram.com and a representative will get back to you shortly.
SSA does provide the equipment, and it is also okay for your child to bring their own soccerball, basketball, volleyball, etc. If your child will be bringing their own equipment, please write his or her name on the equipment. Note: Tball and baseball leagues do require children to bring their own glove.
Flag Football: SSA Leagues provide each player with an official SSA jersey that your child gets to keep. Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. Children need to dress appropriate for outside weather. As for footwear, rubber cleats or sneakers are appropriate. Lastly, each player must use a mouth guard during practice and games.
Tball: SSA Leagues provide each player with an official SSA jersey and baseball cap that your child gets to keep. Players may wear baseball pants, shorts or sweats of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. Children need to dress appropriate for outside weather. As for footwear, rubber cleats or sneakers are appropriate. Lastly, each player must bring their own baseball glove and a protective cup is recommended.
Volleyball: SSA Leagues provide each player with an official SSA jersey that your child gets to keep. Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. Volleyball games are held indoors and outdoors depending on the season and location. Knee pads are recommended for indoor play. As for footwear, sneakers are appropriate and must be worn during indoor practice and games. Sand volleyball games are played barefoot.
Basketball: SSA Leagues provide each player with an official SSA jersey that your child gets to keep. Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. As for footwear, sneakers are appropriate and must be worn during practice and games. Basketball games are held indoors.
Cheerleading: SSA Leagues provide each cheerleader with an official SSA cheer uniform and pompom set that your child gets to keep. If the sport is being held outside, children need to dress appropriate for outside weather. As for footwear, sneakers are appropriate and must be worn during practice and games.
Soccer: SSA Leagues provide each player with an official SSA jersey that your child gets to keep. Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. Children need to dress appropriate for outside weather. As for footwear, rubber cleats or sneakers are appropriate. Lastly, each player must wear shin guards covered by soccer socks during practice and games.
Dodgeball: SSA Leagues provide each player with an official SSA jersey that your child gets to keep. Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. Dodgeball games are held indoors and outdoors so children need to dress appropriate for weather. As for footwear, sneakers are appropriate and must be worn during practice and games.
Practices are 30 minutes. Games are 45 minutes.
Ages 6-8 are in “A Division.” Ages 9-12 are in “B Division.”
All leagues are co-ed unless otherwise noted.
Yes, we do give awards to the winning team at the end of the season. In addition,“Most Improved,” “Hardest Worker,” and “League MVP” awards are distributed. At SSA we do not give “Participation” awards, but children not on the winning team do not go home empty handed.
Although parents will take turns bringing refreshments, children should bring water.
